To sell bundles at the counter, you need a bundle app that publishes to Shopify's Point of Sale channel. Shopify's free Bundles app does this for fixed bundles and multipacks, and PushBundle, a Shopify bundle app, does it for volume, mix-and-match, build-a-box, and cross-sell bundles on every plan since 27 October 2026.
That means a "pick 3, save 15%" box can now have the same price, the same discount, and the same stock rules online and at the till. Below is how to set it up, how stock works when you have more than one location, and the three things POS can't price yet.

One bundle offer, two places to sell it.
Key takeaways
Shopify POS can sell bundles, but only bundles made by an app that supports POS. Shopify's own free app covers fixed bundles and multipacks.
If the shopper picks the items (mix and match or build-a-box), you need a third-party app. Shopify's Help Center says so in plain words.
PushBundle sells all four of its bundle types on POS, on every plan, with the same prices, tier discounts and free gifts as your online store.
Stock for each item in the bundle comes off the POS location where you make the sale, not off your warehouse.
Three PushBundle offers aren't on POS yet: mix and match subscription bundles, open-ended quantity offers and set-price Build Your Own Box bundles.
Ring up one test sale per bundle before a busy day, and check the price, the discount and the stock change.
What "selling bundles on Shopify POS" actually means
A bundle is two or more products sold together, usually for less than their total price. On Shopify, a bundle is a product of its own that points to the products inside it. Shopify calls those inside products "components".
When a customer buys the bundle, Shopify takes stock off each component. It doesn't keep a separate stock count for the bundle. Shopify's Help Center puts it simply: the product with the lowest stock decides how many bundles you can sell.
For years, this only worked well online. In September 2024, Shopify added POS support for bundles made in its free Shopify Bundles app. In August 2025, Shopify opened the same tools (the cart transform function and a POS screen for editing bundle lines) to app developers, so apps could bring mix-and-match bundles to POS too. PushBundle's POS release on 27 October 2026 is built on that.
For you, "selling a bundle on POS" means three things work at the till without extra steps:
The price is right. The bundle discount is applied automatically. Staff don't type in a manual discount.
The stock is right. Each item in the bundle comes off the stock at the shop or stall where you sold it.
The report is right. The sale counts as a bundle sale in your reports, next to your online bundle sales.
If any of these three needs a workaround, you don't really have POS bundles. You have a price list and a calculator. That's the gap this guide closes.
Which bundles can you sell on POS?
Here's how the main options compare for in-store selling. We read every listing on 2 November 2026. Prices are per month in US dollars and may change.
Option | Bundle types on POS | Cost | Mix and match on POS? | App Store rating |
Shopify Bundles (free app by Shopify) | Fixed bundles and multipacks | Free | No. Shopify's Help Center says its app doesn't support mix-and-match bundles | 2.8 (571 reviews) |
PushBundle (our app) | Volume, mix and match, build-a-box, cross-sell | Free plan (volume bundles) or $14 Growth plan (all types) | Yes, except mix and match subscription bundles | 4.9 (19 reviews), Built for Shopify |
Bundler | Lists Shopify POS on its free plan | Free, $9.99 or $19.99 | Mix and match is on the $9.99 Premium plan | 4.9 (2,766 reviews) |
BOGOS | "Run offers on the POS and mobile app" from the Basic plan | From $29.99 (Basic, for Shopify Basic stores) | Check with BOGOS for your offer type | 5.0 (4,579 reviews) |
Each app is the right pick for a different shop:
Choose Shopify Bundles if every in-store bundle is a fixed set, like "3 candles" or "shampoo and conditioner". It's free and made by Shopify.
Choose PushBundle if shoppers pick their own items (a pick-3 box, a build-a-box gift set) and you want the same offer online and in store on one $14 plan.
Choose Bundler if you want a large review base and a low-cost mix-and-match plan, and you're happy to test its POS flow for your bundle types first.
Choose BOGOS if your main offers are free gifts and buy X get Y, and you already use it online.
Whichever you pick, ask the developer one question before you install: "Does the discount apply automatically on POS for my bundle type, and does stock come off the POS location?" A clear yes to both matters more than the feature list.

One question decides whether you need a bundle app for POS.
Do you need an app at all?
Often, no. If your in-store bundles are fixed, Shopify's free app is enough. Use this quick check:
Your in-store bundle | Example | What you need |
A fixed set of products | "Candle trio" with 3 set scents | Shopify Bundles (free) |
The same product in a pack | "6-pack of socks" in one colour | Shopify Bundles (free), as a multipack |
The customer picks the items | "Pick any 3 teas, save 15%" | A third-party app, such as PushBundle |
A box with steps (pick a box, then fill it) | Build-your-own gift box | A third-party app with build-a-box |
Buy more, pay less per item | "Buy 2, get 10% off. Buy 3, get 15% off" | A volume discount app, or Shopify's own discounts |
An add-on at the till | "Add a gift card holder for $2" | A cross-sell bundle or a POS discount |
We cover the full list of what Shopify's free bundles can't do in Shopify native bundles limitations. If you're not sure which bundle type fits your products, start with fixed vs mix and match bundles.
What PushBundle does at the counter
These features come from the PushBundle changelog entry of 27 October 2026. The right-hand column is what each one means for your staff on a busy day.
Feature | What it means at the till |
All four bundle types work on POS | Volume, mix and match, build-a-box and cross-sell bundles can all be rung up in store. |
Available on every plan | POS selling costs nothing extra. The free plan covers volume bundles. The other three types are on the $14 Growth plan. |
Same prices, tier discounts and free gifts as online | Staff don't need a price sheet or a manual discount. The offer applies by itself. |
Stock comes off the POS location | A sale at your market stall takes stock from the stall, not from the warehouse. |
POS orders count in bundle analytics | One report shows bundle revenue from the website and from the till. |
A PushBundle tile on the POS home screen | Staff tap the tile, search a bundle by name, choose variants or items, and add it to the cart. |

A mix and match pack in PushBundle. The same offer now works at the till.
The same release made bundle lines bigger. One mix and match or Build Your Own Box line can now hold about 150 items, up from about 56. That matters for big variety packs and for B2B buyers who fill a case at the counter. Our posts on mix and match drink boxes and snack box bundles show what those packs look like online.
Before you start: a 5-point check
Five minutes here saves a lot of trouble at a busy stall.
The Point of Sale channel is installed. PushBundle's setup guide lists this as the only requirement. You'll find it under Sales channels in your Shopify admin.
You're on the right plan. Volume bundles work on the free plan. Mix and match, build-a-box, and cross-sell bundles need the Growth plan ($14 a month, with a 14-day free trial).
The bundle already works online. Test it on your store first. If the online price is wrong, the POS price will be wrong too, because they come from the same offer.
You know which location will sell it. Each shop, stall, or pop-up should be its own location in Shopify, with its own stock.
Someone can edit the POS home screen. Adding a tile requires the store owner or a staff member with the "Customize smart grid" permission in POS.
How to set it up, step by step
These steps follow PushBundle's guide "How to Sell Bundles in Shopify POS" and Shopify's guide to the POS smart grid. Allow about 10 minutes per bundle the first time.
1. In your Shopify admin, go to Apps > PushBundle > Create Bundles. To change a bundle you already have, open it from the Bundles List instead.
2. Under Status, find Publishing and click the adjust icon next to the channel count. (In some editors, this is the Sales channels card.)
3. In Manage publishing, turn on Point of Sale, then click Done. For a Build Your Own Box bundle, turn on Sell on Point of Sale in the publish drawer.
4. Check that Publishing now shows 2 channels (Online Store and Point of Sale), then click Save.
5. Open Shopify POS on your iPad or phone. On the home screen, tap Add tile in the smart grid, pick PushBundle from the list and tap Save.
6. Check the stock of every item in the bundle at the location that will sell it. Move stock there first if needed (see the next section).
7. Ring up a test sale. Check three things: the bundle price and discount line, the stock change for each item, and that the order shows in PushBundle's analytics.

Step 3: Turn on Point of Sale in Manage Publishing.

Step 4: Publishing shows 2 channels. Click Save.
If the tile doesn't appear in the list, close and reopen the POS app, and check that you're logged in as the owner or a staff member who can customise the smart grid. If the bundle doesn't appear when staff searches inside the tile, go back to step 4 and check that Point of Sale is ticked and saved.
How stock works when you sell in more than one place
This is the part most guides skip, and it's where in-store bundles go wrong.
Shopify keeps stock per location. Your warehouse, your shop, and your market stall each have their own count for every product. When you sell a bundle on POS, PushBundle takes each item in the bundle from the stock at that POS location.
Here's what that means in practice:
Situation | What happens | What to do |
Items are at the stall | Stock comes off the stall. The warehouse count doesn't change. | Nothing. This is the normal case. |
An item is at the warehouse but not at the stall | The stall shows 0 for that item, and you may not be able to complete the bundle. | Move stock to the stall before the event. |
One flavour sells out at the stall | You can't sell a bundle that needs that flavour from the stall's stock. | Swap the shopper to another flavour, or restock the stall. |
An item doesn't track stock | Shopify leaves it out of the bundle stock count. | Fine for things like gift wrap. Track stock for anything you can run out of. |
To move stock, use an inventory transfer in your Shopify admin, or adjust the stock at each location by hand. Do it the evening before an event, not on the morning, so you can check the counts.
A simple rule for planning: the item with the lowest stock decides how many bundles you can sell. If a pick-3 tea box can include any of 6 teas, and you bring 10 tins of each, you can sell up to 20 boxes in total, but only if shoppers spread their picks. If everyone wants the same best-seller, you'll run out of that one first. Bring more of your best-sellers than the average.

Stock comes off the POS location where you sell the bundle.
What POS can't do yet
PushBundle lists three offers that don't work on POS yet. Better you hear them now than at a busy stall.
Not on POS yet | What to do instead |
Mix and match subscription bundles | Sell the subscription online. In store, sell the same box as a one-off mix and match bundle. |
Open-ended quantity offers | Use fixed tiers in store, like "buy 2, buy 3, buy 4", which POS does support. |
Set-price Build Your Own Box bundles (one price for the whole box, whatever goes in it) | Sell set-price boxes online. In store, use a build-a-box with a per-item discount, or a fixed bundle at a set price. |
Shopify also has some limits that apply to all bundles, not only PushBundle's. Its Help Center says bundles don't work with purchase options such as subscriptions and pre-orders, can't be marked final sale in return rules, and can't be used in exchanges, even for an identical bundle. So if a shopper wants to swap one tea for another after paying, refund the item and ring up the new one as a separate sale. PushBundle's guide on refunding one item from a bundle order shows the online steps. Do a test refund on POS before your first event so staff know what the screen looks like.
Which bundle type fits which in-store moment?
Each of PushBundle's four bundle types suits a different moment at the counter. Pick the one that matches how your shoppers buy in person.
In-store moment | Best bundle type | Example | Plan |
A shopper wants more than one of the same thing | Volume | "Buy 2 candles, get 10% off. Buy 3, get 15% off" | Free |
A shopper is choosing from a range | Mix and match | "Pick any 3 teas, save 15%" | Growth |
A shopper is building a gift | Build-a-box | Choose a box, then fill it with 4 items | Growth |
A shopper is paying for one item | Cross-sell | "Add a matching holder for $5 off" | Growth |

Volume bundles are the easiest to run at a till, because staff only scan more of the same item. Mix and match and build-a-box bundles take a few more taps, but they're where in-store shoppers spend most. They like to touch and choose. Cross-sell bundles are your counter upsell: train staff to offer one at payment, not before.
Staff playbook for a busy day
The setup only works if staff can use it in a queue. Here's a short playbook you can print and keep by the till.
1. Name bundles the way shoppers say them. Staff searches the tile by name, so "Pick 3 Teas" beats "MM-TEA-Q4-03".
2. Keep the offer short on your sign. "Any 3 teas, save 15%" fits on a chalkboard. A pricing table doesn't.
3. Pick items in the order the shopper hands them over. Tap the tile, search the bundle, then add each item. The discount line should show once all the items are in.
4. Check the discount line before taking payment. If it's missing, the bundle isn't complete, or an item isn't in stock at this location.
5. Don't type in manual discounts on top. The bundle discount is already applied. A manual discount on top means double savings and wrong reports.
6. Write down any "sold out" moments. If a flavour runs out mid-event, note it. It tells you what to bring more of next time.
Common problems at the till, and how to fix them
Most POS bundle problems come from one of five causes. Check these before you call support.
Problem | Likely cause | Fix |
The bundle isn't in the PushBundle tile | Point of Sale isn't turned on for that bundle, or the change wasn't saved | Open the bundle, check that Publishing shows 2 channels, and click Save |
The PushBundle tile isn't on the home screen | The tile was never added, or the staff member can't edit the smart grid | Tap Add tile as the owner or a staff member with the "Customize smart grid" permission |
The discount line is missing | Not all items are in, or the offer type isn't on POS yet (see the limits above) | Check the bundle rules. For set-price boxes, use a fixed bundle in store |
An item can't be added | It's out of stock at this location | Move stock to this location, or offer a different item |
Reports show fewer bundle sales than you made | Staff sold the items one by one with a manual discount | Retrain staff to use the tile, and check the POS order list for manual discounts |
If a problem isn't on this list, use Get Support inside PushBundle or email support@pushbundle.com. Send a photo of the POS screen and the bundle name, which gets you a faster answer than a description.
Example: a tea shop at a Christmas market
This is an example to show the steps, not a real customer.
A tea shop sells a "pick 3 teas, save 15%" mix-and-match box online. Each tin is $12, so three tins cost $36 before the discount and $30.60 after it.
For a weekend market, the owner:
1. Creates a POS location called "Market stall" in Shopify.
2. Moves 60 tins there on Friday evening: 15 of the 2 best-sellers and 10 each of 3 other teas.
3. Turns on Point of Sale for the tea box in PushBundle and adds the PushBundle tile to the POS iPad.
4. Rings up one test box on Friday, checks that the price is $30.60 and that 3 tins left the stall's stock, then refunds it.
On Saturday, staff tap the PushBundle tile, pick the 3 teas the shopper chose, and take payment. When a best-seller runs low on Sunday morning, staff steer shoppers to the other teas, because the stall can't borrow stock from the warehouse during the sale. On Monday, the stall's sales show in the same PushBundle report as the online orders, so the owner can see which teas sold best in person and order more of those for the next market.
How to check it's working
After your first day, check four numbers. They tell you whether in-store bundles are worth keeping on.
What to check | Where | What good looks like |
POS bundle orders | PushBundle analytics | POS orders appear next to online orders for the same bundle |
Average order value at the till | Shopify Analytics, filtered by the POS location | Higher on days you sell bundles than on days you don't |
Stock left at the location | Shopify admin, Products, filtered by location | Matches what you sold. If not, look for manual sales outside the bundle |
Manual discounts used | POS order list | Few or none. Many manual discounts mean staff are working around the bundle |
When to set this up
Do it before your busiest in-person dates, not on the day. In 2026, Black Friday is on 27 November and Cyber Monday is on 30 November, and many Christmas markets open in late November. Set up and test your POS bundles in the first half of November, while you still have time to move stock and train staff.
If you're also planning your online holiday offers, our guide to BFCM bundle merchandising covers how to help shoppers find bundles in your store. Use the same bundle names online and in-store, so shoppers who saw an offer on your website can ask for it by name at the stall.
Try it in your store
PushBundle is free to install, and POS selling is included on every plan. Volume bundles are on the free plan. Mix and match, build-a-box, and cross-sell bundles are on the $14 Growth plan, which has a 14-day free trial.
